A Bordeaux Blend Dry Red Table Wine from
St. Emilion, Bordeaux, France

Rating: 94+
Maturity: Drink 2012-2027

From a tiny, just under 10-acre vineyard east of St. -Emilion in the sector known as St. -Christophe des Bardes, this wine is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, tipping the scales at 14.9% alcohol. It was bottle unfined and unfiltered. Loads of chocolate, roasted espresso, blackberry and blueberry fruit notes along with some smoke and burning embers jump from a glass of this wine, which has terrific fruit intensity, a massive mouthfeel, yet not a trace of astringency or hardness. Velvety tannins, low acidity and an extraordinary, opulent, even sumptuous mouthfeel make for a wine to drink over the next 10-15 years.
